Spend Thanksgiving in Disney

Spending Thanksgiving in Disney World in Orlando will give your family plenty of choices for food and entertainment. Themed Disney restaurants offer Thanksgiving meals of different styles, presented in unique settings. Thanksgiving events and celebrations will give your family all the fun of the holiday without the stress of having to organize it yourself!

Food
If your family feels adventurous this Thanksgiving, check out the African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine at Jiko – The Cooking Place, located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The menu changes with the seasons, and features vegan, vegetarian, and meat dishes. This restaurant features scenic beauty and décor reminiscent of an African sunset, and you can watch your meal being cooked! 

The Plantation Room Restaurant, located in the Celebration Hotel, is a great place for a more elegant Thanksgiving meal. This restaurant has been serving Thanksgiving dinner for more than 100 years, and features a buffet with honey baked ham, roast turkey, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and other traditional favorites.

If you want a less traditional Thanksgiving meal, check out the many restaurants located in Epcot. In Epcot’s World Showcase, each country has its own restaurant featuring cuisine from several different countries. Each country offers information about different cultures and how holidays are celebrated abroad. Learn a bit about another culture while enjoying food you won’t find at home!

When your family comes to Disney World, your kids will be looking for the characters that make the park famous. Several restaurants feature characters who bring food and greet guests. Check out Chef Mickey’s Buffet, Cinderella’s Royal Table, the Crystal Palace, Garden Grill, and Perfectly Princess Tea Party are hot spots for your favorite characters!

Entertainment
If you’re looking for a Thanksgiving celebration in Disney World, you will find it going on everywhere! Stroll down Main Street and see Mickey and other characters dressed up for the holidays and leading the festivities. Grab some cookies in Downtown Disney and go window shopping. Fireworks, parades, and music make the holidays in Disney World especially entertaining.

If you can spend the weekend after Thanksgiving at Disney, you will see all the Christmas decorations come to life! Trees, tinsel, and elves appear as if from nowhere as all of Disney World gets ready to celebrate Christmas! Shops have discounts on Black Friday, so be sure to take advantage of the sales and get your Christmas shopping done early.
